teddy

i've said it once and i'll say it again....
{this little guy is obsessed with cars}
this prize-winner he got at a yard sale a couple weeks ago
and you'd think he was born with it in his clutches.
he's ALWAYS got it in his arms, carrying at his side like this
he takes it in the car, in the shower, in his bed, to his highchair
and it is the ONE and absolute toy he will NOT share with anyone.
not liam, not mommy, especially no outsider kids that come over...
i have to explain to kids when they try and play with it
and charlie is screaming bloody murder...
"i'm sorry, but i'm not going to make or help him share;
 you're just going to have to go find another toy, because it is NOT worth it."
and then i smile sweetly and take it out of their hands and give the car back to charlie.
 pathetic i know, but i know the boundaries...
it truly is his teddy...

he loves, loves his 'blankie' too
and i don't know that the car has taken the place of that-as far as bedtime goes.
but it's sure darn close
so if you can't choose-you hold on to both
i don't think the car is very cosy to sleep with though...
i usually sneak it out of the crib after he is asleep so he doesn't roll on top of it and get a kink..

these two have had their obsessions also
liam sleeps with about 12 stuffed animals -that have to ALL be present
 to be able to go to bed
there are too many to hold or snuggle with
so they all get gathered to the side of the bed and he lays down next to them
it gets a bit crowded -esp. because he's still in a toddler sized bed.
ruby has been doing the same thing with stuffed animals-
 they have to be lined up beside her,
although she is not as particular if one or two are missing in the line-up
i often times find them snuggled together
on the rare chance they fall asleep for a nap-
this is how i found them the other day on my bed...
**ruby holding a doll and liam holding the shirt the doll was dressed in
i guess he thought that was fair enough!
